Drop Ins Welcome
Hello pickleball players and welcome to our new pickleball venue! We are pleased to have four courts to use in the curling area of the Community Centre during the summer season. Thank you to the Community Centre board for allowing us to paint the lines and use the facility, and thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen. Hopefully we will attract more players with playing times scheduled during the day as well as the evening.
Here are some details about our spring/summer pickleball activity:
Lac du Bonnet Curling Club - cost $3.00/person per session.
Mondays – 10:00 a.m. – noon
Wednesdays – 6-8 p.m.
Fridays – 10:00 a.m. – noon
Centennial School - $1.00/person per session
Thursdays, June 7, 14, 21, and 28 – 6-8 p.m.
LdB Senior School - $1.00/person per session
Fridays, June 8 and June 15, 5-7 p.m.
After June 28 we no longer have school gym use and we will play in the curling club only. Pickleball lines are painted on the courts at Sparman Park and the nets have been installed, so anyone can play there at any time, as long as the courts are not in use.
We ask that all participants help to keep the facility clean while we are using it, as this helps to keep our costs down. We have access to the curling ice surface and the washrooms only as part of our rental agreement. Here are a few important items:
-keep liquids off the playing area
-wear only clean shoes in the playing area
-bring a lawn chair for the sideline when not playing
-those not playing stay behind the green line on the concrete floor
We will designate one court for teaching the game to beginners, and ask that all players with experience take a turn at instructing new players. After one session of beginning instruction, new players can join in on the other courts if they feel ready. Please welcome and encourage new players!
