Lac du Bonnet Lifeguard/Instructor
WRRD is now accepting applications from qualified persons for the full time Lifeguard/Swim Instructor positions at the Town Dock in Lac du Bonnet.
Required Qualifications
-Standard First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
-National Lifeguard (NLS) or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
-Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
-Must be 16 years of age or older
-Successful candidates will be required to submit a clear current Criminal Record check(18 years and older) and Child Abuse Registry check.
The starting hourly rate for all lifeguard and instructor positions will be dependent on the qualifications/certifications and experience of the successful candidates. Wages: starting at $16.00-$17.50/hour plus $250 Sign on Bonus (must work full time through to the end of the summer and will be paid an extra $250 on last cheque)
Lac du Bonnet Beach Patrol
These are part-time, positions with the potential for full-time hours and will run from July 4-August 26, 2022. Hours will vary and include daytime and weekends. The ideal candidates will be 18 years and older, have current CPR and First aid (training available), clear child abuse and criminal record checks, leadership skills, excellent people skills, ability to work well with others, ability to work effectively and remain calm under stress, the ability to take initiative, make decisions, and problem solve, and the ability to multi-task.
Beach patrol staff are responsible for cleaning of the beach and dock area, being alert for possible hazards, providing public education and enforcing the rules of the beach, handling the lifejacket lending program, assisting the public with questions/concerns, alerting lifeguards as needed, administering basic first aid, and other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director. Wages: $18.50/hour
Summer Camp Staff
Summer Camp Staff are responsible for planning day to day camp activities, actively engaging campers during camp activities and field trips, ensuring the safety of the kids in the program by directly supervising the kids at all times and exercising good judgement when observing and disciplining campers.
Summer Camp Staff will also:
- Supervise groups of children
- Assist and participate in group activities including but not limited to swimming, hiking, bowling, crafts and science experiments, field trips, and other physical activities
- Use group management skills to engage all children in daily activities
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for campers
- Serve as a role model for campers
- Manages accidents and incidents according to procedures
- Complete required reports/paperwork
- Oversee general upkeep and care of equipment, supplies and facilities used.
- Arrive at work on time in summer camp appropriate attire
- Communicate on a regular basis with summer camp leader, participants, parent/guardians, and Recreation office staff regarding questions, concerns and emerging issues
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
These are full time (35 hrs/week) positions and are open to youth between the ages of 15-29. Successful candidates must have CPR/First Aid training (training available June28) and will be required to submit a Criminal Record check (18 years and older) and Child Abuse Registry check. Staff schedules fall between 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday in July and August. Wages: $13.00/hour
